East Village Timeline

Out of pure guilt from not posting all week, I'm linking to this 19th century timeline from East-Village.com.  These are the same folks who just opened an East Village visitors center in the Bowery Poetry Club on Friday.  I recently met with Rob and Eric, who run the new center and who have been doing EV tours for several years.  They're both extremely active in the neighborhood and are doing their best to keep the history of the old EV from fading.  They focus on home grown businesses, historical sites, and the offbeat gritty wackiness of the neighborhood.  Stop by and say 'howdy' neighbor next time you're at Bowery/Bleecker.
